About the workshop: The Independent Medical Examiner Workshop is offered to provide an introduction and training as to the involuntary commitment and/or involuntary treatment process for individuals hospitalized due to mental illness.  The training will include review of Maine Statutes, the role of the individuals involved (the hospital provider(s), the legal representation of behalf of the hospital and of the patient and the independent examiner) and the components of a mental health court hearing. This workshop is targeted for PMHNP.
